Worship Services
Christians are called to worship God with the whole of their lives (Romans 12:1). However, those lives are not meant to be solitary and do not prosper in isolation (Col 3: 15 - 17). God has called us together in special families called churches. He also invites us to come regularly together into His presence with praise and prayer for teaching from His Word. These experiences of worship should be among the richest in all our lives: joyful, awesome, inspiring, directing.
Sunday Services
The Woodlands congregation meets regularly as follows:
Morning Service 11.00 am
Crèche facilities are provided for infants under 3 years, with children aged 3 to 11 leaving the service after about 15 minutes for King's Kids in the Church Hall. The morning service is preceded by a time of prayer in the Oak Room at 10.00am and coffee is served at the Coffee Bar from 10.30am onwards for everyone.
Evening Service 7.00 pm
This is smaller and more informal, often with a time for sharing within the service. Some Sundays we have a This Time Tomorrow (TTT) slot in the morning service when someone will give testimony of the work of God in their lives and what they will be doing in their secular job during the incoming week. This includes how their faith impacts on their work situation and often the congregation are left with some prayer requests from the person doing the TTT. During the services, we have a praise band who lead us in singing songs of praise.
Communion
Six times a year we share the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of the months of January (PM), March (AM), May (PM), September (PM), November (AM) and the last Sunday of June (AM) - a communion to which all Christians are invited.
Membership/Communion classes, taken by the Minister or some of the Elders, are normally held on Sunday mornings prior to the March and/or November Communions. These are for those coming to the Lord’s Table for the first time and for those wanting a refresher in the basics of living the Christian life. These classes outline what is expected of someone coming into full membership of Woodlands.
